It's not all work all the time

Last Saturday, I went to the Fyberspates open house. Since we're in the same neck of the woods now, there was no excuse not to.

The Limey was very nice and drove me there. We brought along Mikal, a newcomer to the knitting group I've been going to.

I also brought along my latest design. I busted my ass to finish it in time, and was weaving in the ends in the car. To be honest, bits of it were still a bit damp from the blocking! By wearing it to the open house, I killed two birds with one stone: I showed it off, and I helped it dry quicker! I've just taken it off here to hand over to Jeni- I'm not just walking around in a camisole at the end of October.

It was well-received, and I actually managed to send out the first draft of the pattern to the tech editor tonight. That was quick work indeed.

It's knit from the Scrumptious 4-ply and I like it so much that I bought more yarn to knit one for myself.

The Scrumptious 4-ply is great to work with and the resulting fabric is gorgeously soft and feels great against the skin.

I'd show pictures of Jeni's actual workshop and stuff, but The Limey, who was in charge of the camera, was being force-fed (ha!) cakes, tea, and bubbly, and as a consequence, did not bother himself with the camera too much.

My list of knitting is getting kind of long at this point, so I'll either have more pictures and updates, or I'll be swamped and won't be around much.
